Do you like playing detective and investigating various situations? Do you possess good mathematical skills and excellent analytical skills? Are accounting jobs the ones you're shooting for? If you answered yes to the aforementioned questions, then you should definitely consider aiming for accountant - forensic jobs. Accountant - forensic jobs are not like regular accounting jobs. You will be dealing not only with financial documents, but also with cases of fraud and the like.
Forensic accounting is one of the newest kinds of accounting jobs available nowadays. Forensic accountants are either external or internal auditors who are brought in to make investigations regarding cases of bankruptcy, fraud or other legal conflicts. If you want to get accountant - forensic jobs, then you must know that this entails auditing various situations and making a conclusion with regard to the wrong doings as well as the amount of loss that these have entailed. You will then create a report which will most likely be used as evidence in court. As a forensic accountant, you may even be asked to testify personally in order to validate the claims of wrong doings.
Unlike other types of accounting, forensic accounting is a special form of auditing. Regular audits will be done by the company itself to make sure that decisions or projects comply with accounting standards and company policies. Forensic audits, unlike regular audits, are done only when a situation that needs further investigation arises. There are many instances wherein forensic auditing may need to be done.
