Our client, a stable, long established, sizeable and successful fashion company importing and wholesaling to a range of retailers including well known major chain stores and also operating its own small chain of specialty stores requires a diligent, focused and experienced person to fill an important role. Reporting to the Finance Director, activities include:

.Controlling accounts payable and receivable
.Payment of overseas suppliers in foreign currency
.Maintaining all ledgers, accounts reconciliations
.Preparing month end activities, journal entries, accruals, etc
.Preparing monthly and annual P&L and Balance sheet and associated management reports including variance analysis
.Reporting against budget and participation in preparation of budgets
.Tracking stock values, costings and adjusting as required, stock control, reconciliation
.Bringing to account all cost of goods sold
.Updating cashflow statements
.Maintaining asset register
.Preparing monthly sales reports
.Carrying out periodic compliance tasks and reporting including BAS, payroll tax, FBT, PAYG
Reconciling and maintaining inter company loan accounts
.Overseeing a small support team

The ideal candidate must have appropriate tertary qualifications, appreciable years of relevant experience working for an Australian importer, wholesaling company (prefer fashion or related imported goods), some experience working for a retail chain, be computer literate including MYOB and a data base system, able to work in a team and able to assist a Finance Director. The candidate must be hands on.
