Regional Account Director Jobs

A regional account director oversees a company's clients and makes sure all services are properly and promptly rendered. Job description

Besides ensuring client satisfaction, a regional accounts director may also work on sales and a bit of creative planning. Expect to work both individually and as part of a team. Other tasks you might have to do include:

  • Market the company's regional products, usually following criteria set by the national accounts department
  • Create and maintain partnerships with suppliers and independent contractors
  • Working with promotions managers, coordinators, and/or sales planners to build publicity and media programs
  • Provide regular reports to the National Accounts Manager regarding client status and project progress
  • Track statistics such as performance and sales to make sure the company's income and budget goals are met

Qualifications

A bachelor degree is needed for most regional account director jobs. Many employees pursue further studies while on the job to get eventual promotions, although not all companies offer such opportunities. At least two years of experience in a related field is also required. It also helps to have one or all of the following skills:
