Senior Interface Designer Jobs

Senior interface designers are responsible for planning, directing, and executing creative materials for a company or its clients. The job particularly involves interactive media such as websites, software, and videogames. Job description

As a senior interface designer, your main task is to ensure that project specifications are met and that the team works efficiently to finish projects on time. This may entail one or more of the following tasks:

  • Define the general look and feel of a project based on client specifications, and implement them with the creative team
  • Assist and monitor junior interface designers and other team members
  • Perform evaluations on team members and assess prospective employees
  • Make design pitches to the client or creative director, and/or evaluate pitches from other designers
  • Regularly check finished material to make sure they comply with the company's standards and branding

Job requirements

Most senior interface designer jobs require 4 or more years of professional experience in a relevant field. A bachelor degree is needed; relevant fields include graphic design, advertising design, and computer science/programming with a major or specialization in design or digital art. Some companies also require additional courses, trainings or seminars in related subjects. Other essential skills include:

  • Experience in Mac applications, since most design companies use Mac systems
  • Leadership and team-player skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and a hectic environment
