What you should have

Among building jobs, many engineers say that foreman or foreperson jobs are essential in the successful and immediate completion of the project.

There is no set educational requirements for foreman foreperson jobs, however, employers prefer that you have at least three years of secondary education. Subjects like English, maths, carpentry and horticulture may help. You must have completed formal supervisory, leadership, and safety training programs. Certificate on basic first aid course might work to your advantage.

You must have had years of experience as labourer in building and construction industry, and have specialised in particular trade. You must also possess good communication skills. Knowledge on occupational health and safety and environmental policies and procedures are highly desirable. Good organisation and leadership skills are important as well. You must also be fit and healthy for most building jobs are done outdoors.
