To become an efficient and effective mechanical fitter, you must have mechanical aptitude and interest. Your ability to use tools and equipment required on the job would be to your advantage. You must also demonstrate manual dexterity, good hearing and eyesight, strength and stamina, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety measures may also be useful. And also, you must be able to keep pace with the changing technology employed in the workplace.
