Strategy Jobs
Strategy consultants can be found in the upper management of companies and other business entities. Though they are usually within the company's administrative staff, some consultants may be independent and work for the company on certain projects only. The residential strategy consultants may hold positions within the board of directors or committees. Strategy consultants should have a knack for piecing together their knowledge of the business and how to use that knowledge for the company's benefit. They assist the company in developing new policies and procedures and/or solving problems and risks within the business.
There are certain skills that should be inherent in a strategy consultant. They should be keenly observant, highly organised, and have good judgment. Their deductive reasoning skills should also be well developed.
A strategy consultant is in charge of the following functions
- Conduct Market Research- a strategy consultant needs to study the client, the customer and the product in order to make valid assessments and advise. He should be highly analytical and very creative.
- Development of Policies and Their Implementation- once the necessary data has been gathered, he must outline the proper plan of action and the goals that the implemented strategy should achieve.
- Monitor the Progress of the Implemented Policies- although most strategy consultants only provide technical advise or support, some may be required to perform supervisory tasks.
Job Requirements
A strategy consultant, or any consultancy job in general, requires an advanced
professional degree in any business management courses. There are various business schools and colleges in the country that offer courses in strategy, in the bachelor or graduate level. Years of experience in management consultancy can be a great advantage. Strategy consultant jobs are known to be well-paying jobs, with salaries exceeding $100,000 a year, depending on the level of expertise.
