Copywriter Jobs

A Copywriter's World

The world of advertising is basically all about copywriting. That's because a copy is actually what advertisers pertain to as a script. Therefore, all the commercials that you see on TV, hear on the radio, or read on print came from the creative minds (and pens?) of copywriters.

So, what exactly do copywriters write? Following are some examples:

  • News releases for companies or influential individuals
  • Feature stories in dailies, journals, or magazines
  • Ghostwriters, usually for politicians, businessmen, and other notable people who have columns in publications
  • Reports, term papers, and other technical write-up
  • Oral and written content for commercials (as mentioned earlier)
  • Website content

A Copywriter's Prowess

As you might have observed, copywriter jobs are basically desk work, so they require little physical requirements. Despite of, there's more to being a copywriter than what meets the eye. Following are the most common qualifications for a copywriter:

  • Knowledge of proper usage of the English language
  • Ability to work in cramped workspaces and in a highly stressful environment
  • Creativity
  • A fast thinker
  • Background in Journalism (optional)
