The police may also work with the Scotland Yard or the FBI when doing investigations on transnational crimes. The police are also given the right to confiscate criminal property upon the conviction of a lawbreaker. Furthermore, the police may need to take charge of administrative duties such as doing paperwork or maintaining of criminal records.

Education and Skills Required in Police JobsPolice jobs require policemen to have at least a bachelor's degree in any field plus formal education in a police academy. Policemen are also required to have several months of on-the-job training and to have passed special written and physical exams. Furthermore, policemen must have working and driver's licenses and they must continue to learn criminal justice courses.

The skills required in police jobs are analytical skills and problem solving skills. Policemen must also have excellent communication skills, be able to drive vehicles, and be physically fit. Furthermore, policemen should be at least eighteen years old and be Australian citizens.
