Technical Specialist - R&D - Sewerage / process

This leading Water retailer is keen to secure the services of a technical specialist with a process or chemical engineering background to join their small but dynamic R & D Team.  

The preferred candidate will be a professionally qualified chemical or process engineer , with a high degree of technical competence in the sewerage treatment field and a proactive promotional and influencing nature.

You will most likely have a research or technical background and need to have a good depth of technical knowledge, gained at a mid to senior level, as well as experience contributing to committee efforts.  

As such your verbal and written communication skills need to be excellent, credible and persuasive.

 If you have less experience but can demonstrate excellent technical aptitude and credibility then we can assist you evolve in the role. Likewise an operator from a sewerage plant who has completed further technical/tertiary study in the specific field, with similar traits, could be appropriate.  Further training, guidance and support would be provided to enhance and expand your skills.  

The ultimate objective of the role is to optimise manage and promote increased sewerage quality

through better discharge practice and procedures.

Technical competency required;  

          Sewerage including Human and Trade waste and its impact on sewerage quality  

          Treatment  

          Effluent management  and discharge

          Odour control  

          Bio-solids removal  

          Management of Sewerage assets  

          Quality and Processes  

 Scope of work;  

         Provision of technical advice 

          Presentations, attendance and guidance on steering and to stakeholder committees 

          Some project specific work on sewerage processes 

          Management of project specific budgets  

          Mentoring of less experienced staff and graduates.
