CFD (computational fluid dynamics) naval architecture jobs are categorised under engineering jobs. CFD naval architecture jobs focus on the building of ships for military, commercial, private and public use. Also, CFD naval architects may focus on specialisations such as research on marine crafts, design and costing, manufacturing, engineering or hydrodynamics and hydrostatics.

CFD naval architects may work for owners of ships, shipping lines, shipyards, and equipment manufacturing companies. They may also be employed in the navy, luxury cruise lines, and import-export companies.

Responsibilities in CFD Naval Architecture Jobs

CFD naval architects have many tasks including consulting with clients about marine craft specificiations and making of drawing plans that suggest the structure, measurements and functions of marine vehicles. CFD naval architects also make use of computer-aided design software and computational fluid dynamics computer programs when creating designs. Furthermore, CFD naval architects do costing of materials, labour and services.

Other tasks of CFD naval architects include presenting plans to clients to obtain suggestions for revisions or approval. CFD naval architects also coordinate with interior designers, engineers and building contractors about the approved details of the marine vehicles to be constructed. Moreover, CFD naval architects supervise the purchasing of materials and the construction processes, conduct test runs on marine vehicles, and asses feasibility of safety functions, utilities and other precautionary procedures in ships.

Education and Skills Required in CFD Naval Architecture Jobs

CFD naval architects must have learned about electrical theories, hydraulics, and mathematics. They should also have graduated from college with a degree in naval architecture, architecture or engineering. Furthermore, they must have several years of on-the-job training as well as licenses or certifications.

The skills that are needed in CFD naval architecture jobs are designing, drawing, and conceptualising skills. CFD naval architects must also know how to operate computer programs and read blueprints or design plans. Furthermore, CFD naval architects must be able to communicate well with co-workers and be willing to travel to construction sites from time to time.
