Mechtronic, or mechatronic, engineering is a fusion of mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, and even robotics that makes the invention of "intelligent" and interactive equipment possible. Mechtronic engineering jobs may be found in companies which develop software or produce digital devices, such as digital cameras, MP3s, electronic notebooks, and cellular phones. Most mechtronic engineers work in research and development. They design and make models of electronic gadgets which are operated by computers. Mechtronic engineering jobs are paid an average of Au$45,000 annually. The average maximum rate is Au$195,000 per year. Salary rates are usually based on industry experience, degree of expertise, and skills.

Job description

This profession requires a solid understanding of mathematics and physics, as well as an extensive background in mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering. Aside from technical expertise, good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are also critical in performing the following tasks:

Advanced courses or training may give you an edge over other candidates. However, certain companies may require a professional license. Aside from these specifications, work experience in a particular industry or capacity may be needed.
