If there is one industry which allows professionals to get into a wide array of fields, that is the Engineering industry. Unlike a degree in Accounting which only gives you the option to work as an accountant in the finance or banking industry, a degree in Engineering will give you the leeway to work in an industry of your choice. You can pursue a degree in automotive, aerospace, chemical, civil and building services, electrical, electronics, telecommunications, industrial or mechanical engineering. One of the many engineering job options that you have when studying for any of these degrees in the field of Engineering is to be a process engineer. Process jobs are easy to come by and if you have a lot of related work experience, you can make a lucrative career out of being a process engineer.
Basically, process jobs in Engineering mainly evolve around the maintenance, operation and design of the different manufacturing processes. If you want to apply for one of the many process jobs available today, you can look for openings in companies which deal with mineral processing, petrochecmicals, food, Information Technology, pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. Process jobs usually accept graduates of Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Now, if you are not an Engineering graduate but you are thinking about applying for process jobs, you need to complete secondary or tertiary education. For example, if you have a position as an Engineering Production Process Worker, you will work under close supervision, and it will be your responsibility to assist trade personnel in either the product assembly line or metalworking. Naturally, the specific details about what you will be doing when applying for a process job will depend on the company that you will be working for and the industry that they are in. To sum it all up, process jobs will require you to have either a degree in Engineering or complete secondary education - and your tasks will be more on the 'building and assembling' aspect of Engineering.
