        Event Manager Jobs

        Event managers help organize special events such as trade fairs, exhibits, festivals, and social events. They may also be in involved in fund raising, product launching, and other promotional activities. Aside from hosting a successful event, event manager jobs may also require marketing skills to help fill in the events calendar. As an events manager, you'll also be responsible for hands-on management of people, from catering services to security control. You have to make sure that the client and his guests will receive first-class service based on specific request and planned accommodation.

        For event manager jobs, flexibility is crucial for impressive delivery of services. Event managers often have to deal with difficult situations not only during preparation but also on the actual event itself. Last-minute changes and service interruptions may disrupt plans. That's why most employers look for a "can do" attitude in candidates for event manager jobs.

        Though event managers lead a team of people specializing on different tasks, still, they should stay on top of every situation. They should handle wide-range activities to meet the deadline.

        Typical work responsibilities may include

        • ensuring traffic control and safety for guests
        • meeting with clients to discuss events preparation
        • preparing budget and cost for the event
        • developing market plans and event strategies
        • booking venues and other accommodations
        • liaising with suppliers, contractors, and other business partners
        • writing detailed proposals (staff rostering, timeline, equipment, design, budget, activities, etc.)
        • organizing facilities for the event
        • hiring and training staff
        • handling media relations (ads, press release, ticket promotions)
        • supervising preparations and post-event evaluations

        Public offices and private firms may hire an events manager to set up a conference and organize other special occasions. Event managers may work as an in-house staff or as a freelancer from an events company. Most employers look for appkicants with formal training and education in the field of hotel and restaurant management, sales, and marketing. Experience in working as an events coordinator can also be a good qualification. Event management jobs may offer attractive compensation packages based on performance, training, work location, as well as size and type of company.
