There is a very urgent demand present in Australia for healthcare professionals. If youre studying to become a nurse or a doctor, then you dont have to worry about finding a job once youre done with your schooling. But before you get a job in the healthcare industry, there are, of course, quite a lot of requirements that you need to know.
If you have the patience and compassion to care for hospital patients, then a nursing job would suit you best. You should know that in Australia, there are two kinds of nurses. The first type is the registered nurse, and the second is the enrolled nurse.
Before you can become a registered nurse, you must first complete the 3-year course at the university. Enrolled nurses, on the other hand only need to finish a 1-year vocational course. But you must remember that this profession requires a lot of your time and patience. Work at the hospital never ends, and you must always be ready for whatever emergency is at hand. Keep in mind that you will need to be extremely punctual for work; this health care position is nothing like a desk job. You must expect to be at the hospital round the clock, and at any given shift. You will be challenged greatly by this job, but remember that helping those in need can be truly rewarding.
There is a shortage of nurses in the country due to the demand of Australian nurses in other countries. But if this type of profession doesnt interest you, then there are other healthcare jobs for you to choose from.
Doctors are also included in the field of healthcare, but you must know that the road to being a doctor can be very, very long. Years of schooling and practice are necessary before one can become a successful doctor. But the good news is that there are so many kinds that you can be. General practitioners, cardiologists, surgeons, pediatricians the list goes on and on for this healthcare job. There is no doubt that doctors will always be needed in any part of the country.
