Human Resources Jobs

The Human Resources jobs are a "network" of several jobs concerned with the management and promotion of the welfare of both the employees and their employers. Moreover, they're concerned with the achievement of the goals and objectives set by the companies or organizations and the workers' union.

Here's a simple guide to the the various jobs that fall under this general category:

1. Change Management Jobs.
Hire people with deep inclinations for management change programs such as design, review, and implementation. A change management consultant (CMC) or employee must know how to effect positive and considerable growth to a business entity. Moreover, a CMC must have an extensive experience in dealing with various sectors, particularly the infrastructure, transport, local government, gas, and oil. A CMC is tasked to implement the company's goals parallel to business consulting assignments. The assignments are expected to be delivered in high quality and on time. A CMC teams up with a project manager to make sure that the goals are effectively met. CMCs also work with teams coming from large business establishments to aid the latter in adapting to the changes in internal/back office operations.

2. General Human Resources Jobs.
The General Human Resources (GHR) job entails highly versatile candidates with significant working knowledge on the various facets of human resources. A GHR specialist is tasked to take charge in record keeping, recruitment and selection, evaluation, training, orientations employee relations, as well as in wage and benefits. Most companies or establishments who are looking for a GHR specialist require a candidate to have the following credentials: at least two years or more of HR experience, keen interpersonal abilities, and an AA or BS degree.

3. Human Resource Management Jobs.
The Human Resource Management (HRM) position is, in more ways than one, related to the GHR post. An HRM employee oversees human resource services to various segments of a business establishment. The HR manager is tasked to coach and train the managers and executives in dealing with their employees, managing the workforce, staffing, and developing their employees to meet the goals set by the company or establishment. In addition, HR specialists provide the human resource with solutions and tools that promote the latter's welfare as well as the company's objectives. The credentials required are very much the same as with a GHR position.

4. Industrial Relations Jobs.
The Industrial Relations (IR) position entails a candidate with a solid motivational capability since the post calls for encouraging both employee and employer to push for the achievement of the goals and objectives set by the company or establishment. IR officers oversee the following: industrial awarding and agreement; preparation of a blueprint and implementation of policies concerning wage structures, employee classification, and other matters; mediation on talks between employees and employers concerning salary rates and employment conditions; resolution of industrial disputes; research on issues regarding industrial relations; and the like. The tasks of IR practitioners depend on the nature of the company they work for. Take for instance large companies or establishments that require minimizing industrial disputes, while employer associations usually require maximizing benefits and protecting the interests of the faction they represent.

5. Occupational Health and Safety Jobs.
The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) job is concerned with the following: understanding workplace safety and health as well as the industrial activities, evaluation and trouble-shooting of customer complaints about the company's products, evaluation of existing and new products, promotion of products and services as well as generation of customer awareness regarding the latter, and the like. The post requires candidates with significant working experience in industrial hygiene, personal protective equipments, safety, and use of field and laboratory apparatus that ensure safety and health. A candidate with either a Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Safety Professional certification is highly desired for such position.

6. Recruitment Consultant Jobs.
The Recruitment Consultant (RC) post generally entails recruitment of staff to fill certain job slots. An RC is responsible for assessing the applicant's credentials and capabilities by conducting interviews or exams. It's customary to make background checks on every prospective employee to protect the interests of the company or organization. Among the other tasks that RCs perform are extension of the clients' linkages or contacts, negotiation of employment terms, advertisement of job vacancies, and training of junior consultants.

7. Training Jobs.
Trainers are sought-after in most companies, establishments, or organizations. The main job of a trainer is to supervise the training of employees in order for them to meet the set standards, goals, and objectives. A trainer designs and facilitates staff training programs and performs analysis and evaluation afterwards. This is why the trainer must posses solid knowledge and considerable expertise on the field he or she is conducting a training on and must serve as an example of professionalism.
