Job description

Like most IT services jobs, analyst-financial jobs involve a wide range of tasks, including office and administrative work. That's why flexibility and organizational skills are a must in this line of work. Here are some of the things you can expect to do in analyst-financial jobs.

  • Tracking the company's IT-related purchases and making sure they are within the set budget
  • Auditing all invoices in the IT department to match them with recorded purchases
  • Checking all the software purchases for proper licensing, and following up the licensing process for newly purchases software
  • Receiving reports for hardware repair and maintenance, software upgrades, and other costs of upkeep
  • Working with people in other analyst-financial jobs in creating monthly reports on the IT budget, return of investment, and other financial concerns, and presenting them during board meetings
  • Serving as the focal point for price negotiations and assisting in the budgeting process with other analyst-financial jobs

Qualifications

Analyst-financial jobs require a college degree in finance, accounting, business, or other relevant fields. A background in IT or computer science is considered a plus, especially for senior analyst-financial jobs. Experience is almost always required; most companies require at least three years of experience in similar analyst-financial jobs.
