Job description

Like other IT services jobs, helpdesk analyst jobs will often see you doing additional work besides your core duties. Office and administrative work are particularly common in helpdesk analyst jobs. Other tasks to be expected in helpdesk analyst jobs include the following:

  • Maintaining a log of service requests, complaints, and inquiries using digital ticketing platforms
  • Assisting customers in operating and maintaining for their hardware and software purchases

  • Providing remote troubleshooting services using remote assistance programs, such as MS SMS

  • Managing a team of help support personnel and regularly evaluating their performance

Qualifications

Most helpdesk analyst jobs require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field as a minimum. Experience may also be necessary, since the work requires advanced knowledge compared to support staff positions. Most companies look for at least one year of previous work in similar helpdesk analyst jobs or IT services jobs.
