Admin Engineer Jobs
Admin engineer jobs, or systems administrator jobs, center on the maintenance and operation of a computer network or a computer system. Also called system administrators, systems admin engineers or sysadmins, their tasks may also vary according to the organization or department they are working for.
Some of the basic tasks of systems administrators or system admin engineers are installation, support, and maintenance of computer servers and networks, as well as other computer systems. They are also responsible for the creation of plans and responses to problems such as service outrages. They may also be tasked to do other computer-related duties such as light programming, scripting, system-related project management, supervision and training of computer personnel and operators, and provide troubleshooting advice for problems that cannot be solved by the technical support personnel.
System admin engineers or system administrators must have a good education on computer courses such as information system management, computer science, and computer engineering. Some companies and institutions may also require prospective system administrators to have significant experience in computer systems for them to qualify for the job.
