Apprentice Chef Jobs
Apprentice chef jobs involve the completion of tasks that are given by superior chefs, such as the executive chef, the sous chef, and the chef de partie (or the station chef). Apprentice chef jobs serve as the training or orientation for chefs to learn the procedures, techniques, and processes involved in commercial cookery. Many educational institutions for culinary arts require their students to take apprentice chef jobs as part of their practicum.
Apprentice chef jobs require applicants to be physically fit to work around in the kitchen, have outstanding skills in food preparation, can work well with knives, have comprehensive knowledge on hygienic practices in the kitchen, as well as occupational safety and health, and creativity to come up with exquisite dishes.
Apprentice chefs usually work under the supervision of a Chef de Partie or a Station Chef, in order to gain valuable knowledge on the procedures and principles demanded by such stations. Some of the station chefs that train apprentice chefs are the Sauté Chef, Fish Chef, Roast Chef, Grill Chef, and Pastry Chef.
