Exciting Careers: Fire Service Jobs
Fire service jobs are quite risky but fulfilling. Fire service jobs include opportunities for fire fighters, fire engineers, and fire prevention officers. As a fire fighter, it's in the nature of your job to operate water pumps, chemicals, or foam from portable hoses, extinguishers, and from other equipment so as to extinguish fires and to stabilise hazardous substances. When people get trapped inside buildings, houses, vehicles, or in any difficult situation as a result of a fire or an accident, it's also part of your duty to rescue them and bring them to safety. Administering first aid when needed is also part of your duty as a fire fighter.
As a fire prevention officer, it is your duty to visit establishments and buildings and examine them for any possible fire hazards. Studying a building's access points or locations of fire prevention tools such as hydrants and extinguishers is also part of your tasks as a fire prevention officer.
