The latest figures from the ANZ monthly job advertisements series shows that job advertisements in Metropolitan newspapers increased by .2% to an average of 20,497 per week.

This followed a more significant 1.7% increase in October bringing the number of job advertisements up 3.7% on the same figures this time last year.

Job advertisement increases were recorded in South Australia (3.4%); Victoria (2.6%); Tasmania (1.4%); Western Australia (1%); and Queensland (0.6%).

The number of internet job advertisements only grew by a modes 0.8% in November to average 235,859 per week.

In trend terms, this represented a 0.1% rise which is the slowest rate of growth since February 2003.

However, the trend estimate of internet job advertisements still remains 32% higher than it did a year ago.
