Teachers concerned over job cuts

3 December 2007

NSW TAFE teachers are concerned that Kevin Rudd's 'Education Revolution' will see jobs cut as the distance education unit becomes decentralised.

Plans would see the distance education unit as it is today; become obsolete with the state's 10 TAFE institutes then forced to accommodate the students.

NSW TAFE teachers met last Friday to discuss the 'TAFE NSW Doing Business In The 21st Century' paper which will see the teachers union seeking to table concerns before the NSW Education Minister.
