The latest ANZ Job Advertisement series for December shows that Job Advertisements are growing with the smaller states Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory providing plenty of opportunity for those who seek employment.
ANZ's Chief Economist, Saul Eslake, said, "Looking at job advertisements by state, it continues to be the smaller states of Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory which are showing the strongest trend increases in job advertisements."
"New South Wales is also showing strong signs of improvement. In contrast, job advertisements in Western Australia appear to now be easing slightly following remarkable growth between 2003 and 2006,"
The ANZ Job Advertisement series showed an increase in newspaper job advertisements last month with increases in New South Wales (7.7%); Tasmania (8.8%); the Northern Territory (8.2%); the Australian Capital Territory (6.3%); South Australia (5.3%); Victoria (2.3%) and Western Australia (1.2%).
Queensland was the only state not to register an increase (-0.9%).
