Unemployment drops to 4.3%

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released new data today showing that the unemployment rate fell from 4.5% in November to 4.3% in December.

More than 20,000 job seekers found employment last month.

An extra 6300 full time positions were filled while there were almost 14000 part time jobs taken up.

The tightening labour market figures come on the back of 47,000 jobs being filled in November.
