British researchers have found that a stressful job has a direct biological impact on your body, which raises the risk of heart disease.
The study of 10,000 public servants, reported in the European Heart Journal, found that chronic work stress was linked with coronary heart disease (CHD).
The study also showed that stress at work was linked with a lack of exercise, smoking and a poor diet.
The British Medical Journal study also found a link between stress and metabolic syndrome (obesity and high blood pressure), which leads to diabetes.
