Jobs in health and medicine become all the more necessary as the temperature cools, especially in Queensland where it's easy to get run down due to a lack of preparations against the cold. It's strange, but winter can seem worse in warmer climates merely because the locals tend not to plan for lower than normal temperatures, even in the workplace.
Health and medical jobs are thus put under intense strain year round, as the sub-tropical conditions provide an excellent breeding environment for many exotic illnesses in the warmer months, while the lack of concern for defending against cold weather means many people with 'flu in the winter. Nursing staff and doctors are obviously in high demand, with many jobs and initiatives to increase their numbers, but they also require many more medical administration staff to organise such large medical operations.
Those interested in jobs in the healthcare industry can specialise in many different areas and do not necessarily require extensive medical knowledge. Much of the staff in hospitals is composed of nursing and administration jobs, but aged care and dietician jobs are also quite highly in demand in certain sectors.
If you believe that there is nothing more valuable to society than good health, you may want to consider a career in health and medical jobs.
