Jobs in government roles have long been maligned for poor pay in comparison to the work involved. This is not necessarily the case anymore, as more and more government sectors recognise the importance of keeping well-suited individuals happy in their public service jobs.
Government has jobs that need filling in a vast array of sectors, although administrative work is some of the most common due to the scope of areas that need to be administered. There are, of course, some of the most action orientated roles in government jobs as well. The police force and fire service are institutions for the safe operation of our society, so a government job needn't necessitate you sitting at a desk. If you'd prefer other roles, then the armed forces could see you making new mates in the Army, flying in the Air Force, or travelling the world with the Navy.
Most government positions will see you helping to administrate a major area of public concern, such as health or natural resources. These pay more lucratively than they used to, and offer the opportunity of advancement to positions of significant influence.
Mostly, you can be sure that you are giving something back to your community when you choose a career in government jobs.
