Returning to jobs after having children

After having children, many mothers want to return to their jobs. Unfortunately, many Australian mothers are finding this difficult as their jobs don't always offer the flexibility they need to cater to the needs of their children. Children don't work by a 9 to 5 schedule. With increasing day-care costs, it's becoming increasingly pointless for mothers to return to their jobs as their wage may barely cover the weekly cost of child care.
While mothers may have had well paying and challenging jobs before their children were born, these types of jobs don't always offer the flexibility mothers want. Night time jobs may offer more flexibility as mothers can spend the day with their children and ideally their partners can take care of the children at night. Part time jobs are also an option.
