Over your professional life, it's expected that you'll change jobs three to five times. Career change is quite common. However you can seldom expect to change jobs without dropping salary, doing lots of research and possibly having to do additional training.
It helps if your skills are relevant to the career you're looking at getting into, but a lot of the time, you're going to need training. Research your new industry and find out what skills are common and skills that are highly prized and go about learning them if you don't already have these skills.
It might mean that you will have to go to TAFE or even university, but if this is an industry you're passionate about, it will eventually be worth it.
Do make sure you understand the tasks that will be involved for the jobs you're looking at. You don't want to finally land your dream job and discover that there are tasks involved that you absolutely hate.
