Train Driver Jobs

People with train driver jobs are involved with the operation of train locomotives for the purpose of conveying passengers or goods to their specific destinations. Aside from the transport of passengers or goods, people with train driver jobs are also responsible for training apprentices or train driver's assistants. Train driver's assistants are train drivers-in-training who perform routine railway driving tasks under the supervision of the people with train driver jobs.

Tasks and responsibilities

The main responsibility the people with train driver jobs is to safely transport passengers or deliver goods from the pick-up point to the drop-off point via a railway. The tasks of the people with train driver jobs include the observation of signals, the operation of controls, and the monitoring of gauges. They also need to conform with the safety regulations and the prescribed speed of the train.
