Reservation & Ticket Agents Jobs
People with reservation & ticket agent jobs are involved with the provision of ticketing services to customers who wish to travel. The ticketing services provided by the people with reservation & ticket agent jobs include the reservation of seats, selling of tickets, filling out ticket forms, and assigning of seats. People with reservation & ticket agent jobs usually work in airports, travel agencies, train stations, and other travel and transportation companies.
Tasks and responsibilities
The main responsibility of the people with reservation & ticket agent jobs is to provide tickets that will ensure their customers with a seat on the transportation of their choice. It is the duty of the people with reservation & ticket agent jobs to check the availability of seats and schedules of trips to make sure that the customers are given the correct tickets. People with reservation & ticket agent jobs are also responsible for making reservations according to the specifications of the customers. Examining passports, accepting payments, supplying tickets, issuing receipts, and returning change are also included in their long list of tasks and responsibilities.
People with reservation & ticket agent jobs also perform customer service duties by responding to the requests and answering to the enquiries of the customers. They are also required contact their customers to update or confirm the status of the reservations. It is also their responsibility to cancel the reservations upon the request of the customers.
Requirements and qualifications
The academic requirement for reservation & ticket agent jobs is a completed secondary education. Most employers, however, still prefer applicants of reservation & ticket jobs with higher academic qualifications. Relevant working experience in other travel jobs is also needed to qualify for reservation & ticket agent jobs. Since most ticket reservation systems are now computer-based, it is important for the applicants of reservation & ticket agent jobs to be proficient in basic computer applications. Other personal requirements in reservation & ticket agent jobs include excellent communication skills, good mathematical aptitude, and outstanding organisational skills.
